Vehicle history
« on: May 10, 2016, 09:21:50 AM »
Hi all,
I am restoring my 68SS and have been trying to get some original build information. I don't suppose this vin is on the database? 124378L331540 Or could anyone post the link for the original dealer search? I thought I saw one on one of the info pages but I can't seem to find it again. I have found this one but not sure of the quality of information available. http://www.gmmediaarchive.com/?page=3

If you download the information for the 1969 Camaro, you'll find all of Chevrolet's factory specifications, AMA data, etc for the model... but it's all generic '69 Camaro information', not specific to your VIN... but you should be able to decode/extract the information for your car from that data.

I see they are still missing information for a certain span of 69 Camaros.

Is there a chance that it's ever going to be found?   When they say "missing" it's almost as if they hope to recover it at some point...lol

Not likely to ever be found. We are lucky they "found" what they have. :)

Mikus,
Your car is a 68 so the  69 info. gap. will not affect you. There is a chance your car may fall into the 05C build date trim tag snafu.( there seems to be NO 05A or 05B trim tags for 1968)
The dealer info address is on a sticky on the first forum page. Good luck.
