original coil spring tag size and build date
« on: March 28, 2016, 01:38:40 AM »
I am trying to find new tags for my springs and the first set I bought are too narrow. Mine are an inch wide on an 03D car.  The ones I bought were copied off an original set. If you have your originals, how wide and when was your car built?

Bill,

I have my originals, but when I removed the original springs, I removed the tags, placed them in a plastic bag and 'stored them' away...  :)....  It would probably take me 2 hrs or more to locate them.  :(

PS.   the new ones you posted photos of, appeared too narrow to me...  your originals appeared to be similar to mine (late 09C car)...

I would contact Don Lightfoot and see what he can do for you Bill, even you too Gary. That is, making correct tags, not finding your lost parts.lol  http://www.angelfire.com/rock/69ss/

Or ECS maybe, the makers of RPM? They are supposed to make exact copies.

the rear ones I got were the same width as the narrow front ones so they both must be wrong. Thank you for the pictures. unreal you were able to find the rear ones!

I had Don make my spring tags. My original front tags were 15/16" wide, 3955712 EM.  He had no problem making the right size, but font is where we had a problem. The 'M' on the original tag looks like an upside down 'W'. I finally found the proper font and what he made was an exact match. Excellent job!! :)
