1969 z28 fuel line

where can I buy a new one piece metal fuel line from fuel tank to under the hood. I understand that a rubber line  is used from fuel tank sender to metal fuel line and then another rubber line from fuel line under hood to fuel pump. Other wise the metal fuel line is one piece.

Do they sell the fuel line already formed to shape?

Can this one piece line be installed with body on frame?

Right Stuff Detailing does pretty good with the lines, Fine Lines too. Problem I see when shipping the one piece lines for either gas or brake lines (one piece front-rear brake line without holdoff valve) is that the companies will bend them to package for UPS shipping. I bought mine from both vendors at Super Chevy/Indy a long time ago to get them home without having the bends for shipping. Lucky enough to have my Suburban along to festoon them the length of the truck inside for the trip home (and a fight to keep the kids from trying to use them as monkey bars).

You'll probably need to separate the passenger side subframe mounts as the line wraps around the subframe, partially. I had my subframe off when I was disassembling the front end, so it was easy to unbolt and separate the line from the body.

I dont like bending fuel lines. After straightening a bend, on the outside it make appear okay, but there
may be a slight restriction on the inside. And restrictions may cause a fuel pressure drop. My fuel line is original, but has some problems. The metal is strong hard too believe that it can be bent and straightened without issues. Maybe replacements use metal that bend easier.

Its done all the time for many types of vehicles so that should not be a concern. I don't know for sure but think its going to be a challenge to install the new fuel line with car intact but never tried so hopefully a non-issue. What I've found is be prepared to do some slight bending here and there as many times things are just not correct, and that one you took off can help save your you know what so keep that original handy and use that one to un-bend the new one and then check from one end to the other. I found both my fuel and brake lines a challenge in fit-up, but maybe it was just what I got. If you want one un-bent you can pick up at a show as aforementioned but place the order so they bring it un-bent for your pick-up. We have done that already at Spring/Fall Carlisle. Also saves in shipping cost!

Spoke to a GM technician. His comments were to try to get fuel line that is not bent for shipping. Bent for shipping may damage inner fuel line wall. You'll never know, you just end up compensating for the loss in fuel pressure some where else. I kind of agree, I don't think Jerry McNeish would install a fuel line that has been bent for shipping in one his race cars, but I don't know.

You have many more restrictions in a fuel system than a tiny section of tubing *possibly* have minor turbulence in it. Every bend has the same distortions, and they are done by the factory. The tube size is oversized for a reason.
If this was an issue, every Z (restored or original) would have fuel issues at high rpm. Umm, they don't. This is literally thinking a molehill is a mountain.
I was a GM engineer that did fuel systems, btw.

They put a large radius in the line so they are easy to straighten.
But if you can buy it at a show or a dealer straight, I would.
