It's dated August 14th 1968. Are you sure it had a B on the end?

Muncie didn't start the A, B, C until Oct 21st 1968.

Without the VIN, could it be Aug of 69?

The VIN and transmission assembly stamp seem to be conflicting, that is why I asked for pics.

Some late 68 Muncies had a small mark that looks kinda like a small squared off c. Not related to the A, B and ratio designators that started later in the 69 model year. I want to see what this one looks like. :)

It's difficult to tell what this is from the image; almost looks like a double stamp on the last character, but if I had to guess it would be   P9M19     (No trailing character)...

Right, but that is Vince's pic, not the one that the original poster started the thread about.

I had the born with Oct 18 or 19 trans in the early 69 Z I had which also DID NOT have the A-B-C suffix, which is how I know that an August trans would not have the designation, AND L502xxx is an EARLY CAR as they didn't build late at LOS!

My fault it was N502xxx NOT L502xxx it makes no difference N502xxx is also an EARLY VIN from Norwood.

Yes James, we know it is an early VIN.   :)

What I am trying to get is a photo of the information from the original post. As I stated, some 68 Muncies had a small c like stamp at the end of the assembly stamp. The exact meaning or reason for this is unknown, but I have LOTS of examples of this in 68.  Since the one posted is an early 69, I wanted to see if it is similar.

It's not going to be a c, but it has me curious.  8)

This is what I am talking about.  It is from an M20 assembled in late June.  So really only a month and a half before the P9M14 trans.
