Actually many of us really like the *frost green* (a light metallic green) paint, with dark green vinyl roof and interior..  it's a nice combo!

I like the frost green. Dark green vinyl and green interiors not so much.... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder my friend, just like there's an ass for every seat.

I'm sorry, my facetiousness didn't read well in my post. I think its an awesome color combination, like red red red. Maybe even better with an endura bumper. And especially on a 69, I keep forgetting there are prior years.

ugh, frost green sure.

frost green, green vinyl top, green interior..... :P

I like red, but red with a red vinyl top red interior, to much.

I think the green top is the deal breaker for me.

Last year at the Camaro Superfest show, there were 3 triple green 69's. Not one was still green IIRC.

That's sad but true.  I see so many original green cars come through here that have already had a color change with the owner having no interest in going back original.  Tired of seeing the common colors.  I think people forget green was a very popular color in the late 60's and early 70's with all makes and model cars.
Slowly these colors are coming back though.
I might be a little bias, my Z is frost green but with white deluxe houndstooth and black stripes (no vinyl top).  My father bought his GTO brand new (still has it)  Dark green with white vinyl top and white interior.  It got it's first and only paint job back in about 1988 or so.  Funny back then no one cared about originality and he always got the same question "why did you repaint it green?"  and my father always had the same response "because that's the color it was originally"  Now here we are today glad that he kept the original color.  It stands out in a sea of red and black cars.

Not Green/Green.

Green/Green/Green=a bit much, IMO

But then again it would be tough for me to pull the trigger on a Daytona yellow car with yellow hounds tooth.

Everyone has an opinion, and thats why they made so many colors, right?

I would call the Camaro with several shades of green .. "understated and subtle, but classy..."

Not everyone desires a car with 'Resale Red' slapped all over it..  :)

Austin, you just don't like vinyl tops...  but they were a 'thing' of that time....  :)    re the 'green/green/green' combo, having the darker green roof which isn't shiny, along with the darker green interior.. simply adds some contrast both color and texture to the appearance of the car, and the 'frost green' really is a very pretty paint color.

Nowadays, I'm not sure if any manufacturer puts vinyl tops on cars (I can't think of one?), but at that time, if you didn't have a vinyl top car... it sorta meant 'cheap'.. :)    ... ("Hey you bought a new car!   You didn't want to pay for a vinyl roof???")

I would NOT add a vinyl top to a car that didn't have one, and I would prefer my car NOT to have a vinyl top; I had planned on removing it during restoration, but since I decided in the intervening 35 yrs to maintain it in 'original unrestored' condition, I have changed my mind.

Truth be told I like the Vinyl tops on the 67 and 68 Camaros, because it goes all the way to the drip rails.

On this Frost green car, I do like the color, so in my mind why cover it up with a dark green vinyl?

I think the vinyl tops look good and break up color on certain cars. The triple green was just to much for me

It's funny that not a lot of people like vinyl tops at all. I love mine. My 93 even had a painted roof that I imagine was to cast the illusion of a vinyl top. I thought it looked 100% better than the all red Camaros.

I've always liked vinyl tops.  More than just appearance for me.  It's nice to set your drink on the car or what ever you might have in your hands for a minute, and put it on the roof without worry of scratching paint.   No flying rock chips either  ;D     It's just the little things like that, that I appreciate.

I get that. Also one less spot to wash/dry as closely or have to buff out, and it seems on hot days to cut down the heat?
Just my obesrvations.

They cut down the heat when it's a white vinyl top. Millions of school buses can't be wrong, lol.
That's exactly why dad bought his GTO new with a white vinyl top.  He couldn't afford air conditioning back then, so the next best thing is a white top on the car, and white interior to boot.   It's amazing how much cooler it is inside that car in the summer time as apposed to a black top and black interior.  It's literally an oven here in Arizona with a black interior car and dark color roof.

I've had several white interior cars, my blazer had the white roof to go with it, very comfy in the summer, and I think it's a classy look as well.  It's one of the reasons that attracted me to my Z, it has white houndstooth, coupled with the light color of frost green, it won't be an oven in the summer time.

It is interesting looking at the paint chart percentages on the CRG, they show that 8% were painted Frost Green, compared to 7% for garnet red, and I think Larry and Kurt are correct you don't see as many painted that color, which is unfortunate.
Where at one time it was popular to repaint a car in red, and believe it or not I had a hard time finding a nice original red 69Z.
I did run across a lot of red 69Z cars, but a lot of them were originally Fathom Green.

I do too.  Newer cars offer very few exterior colors compared to the 1960's, and it seems like you can only get an interior in black or gray.  I would love to see the new 2016 Camaro with bright blue, white, red, tan or natural, and gold as interior color options.

I know red interiors were offered for a while on some model cars.  The GTO of 04-06 had that available, buddy had a silver goat with red interior.  Sharp looking.

Tan is also still available on most models, one of our favorites, classy look.  One of my wifes 4th gens had tan and I bought my duramax with tan cloth, hard to find but available.

My wifes boss at work drives a Kermit the frog green charger, and yes it has matching green interior.  Kind of ugly to me but at least dodge has been bringing back some of their high impact colors in recent years.

The 5th Gen has had some limited interior options. Besides orange interior, they did offer a beige interior option on the 2010, and maybe in 2011. I also think the mid 2010 synergy green had a green interior option.
If you really have a taste for the 60's flare, Nickey Chicago offers some "unique " options for interior choices:

I didn't know that Nickey was doing that..  :)    I thought seriously about purchasing a new SS when the 5th gen Camaro first came out, and I was going to buy a white one then add the orange stripes and orange houndstooth interior (to simulate the '69 pacer), and to 'sorta match' my Z28... :)    but I decided I didn't like driving the 5th gen due to the sorry driver visibility...

You would think as many people complain about the poor visibility they would tweek that in the model changes. I looked at a zl-1 and the dealer gave me a good deal on it but the side windows are too high.  I took my brother in law to pick up his f**d truck yesterday and someone was driving a shelby 350 around the lot. I hate to admit it but it looked good and sounded awesome.

I have no qualms at all with other brands, I have Pontiacs, Fords, and Chevy's in the stable and they all have their place.  If I were looking at new cars I'd most likely end up with a new 5.0 mustang.  The coyote engine runs strong, and I like the body style.  I also like the challengers and Camaros but both are priced much higher than mustangs once equipped the way I'd want it.

Nickey was modifying the 4th gen Camaros the same way back when they were new with special interior colors and paint schemes and HP packages.  Kind of neat actually but always limited production though and prices extremely high.

I asked about the visibility at the 2016 intro. They said the customers rated the styling more important, IIRC.

Which tells me that as long as customers purchase the car, they will make no attempt to improve the car...  I liken it to 'driving a bathtub car'....  There are always things (mostly small) that can be improved on any existing design, and when they've been building the SAME car for what six years??  and haven't done any significant design improvements?  So when customers start buying the mustang or some other car, Chevy has no excuse...

isn't answering to the customers wishes, how the edsel got built?

Some of the most beautiful cars in the world do not have great visibility. If somebody wanted 5 star visibility there are many other makes models out there that will satisfy that buyer. Hell my 69 camaro has a "blind spot", but I'm not complaining or selling it to get a convertible with rearview bar mirror, so I can see everything behind me.

To quote a not so famous movie " and now my friend the first rule in italian driving, whats behind me (rips off mirror and tosses it) is not important"

My point being is people have their choice of Mustang, Challenger, Camaro or many other performance minded cars out there. I think the successful sales of each generation of Camaro (including the 5th and 6th) speak for themselves, as far as GM delivering a product that the public wants. We are lucky they have made so many different versions over the years for us "picky" buyers to choose from. We are lucky they brought back the Camaro at all.....
I'm not a fan of the bail out, but maybe the silver lining is we got to keep the Camaro alive, and it could have looked/performed  a lot worse  :D
