I looked into armaflex too, but it is to thick IMHO. I want something closer to original.

What is the thickness of the Original, both of my power steering cars had soaked, crumbling orig insulation that was nasty and have since been replaced.

I would like to confirm, maybe through some of our sites survivor cars the answer lies, but did both hoses get a sleeve? My car has a sleeve only on the pressure hose. This is a 69 specific question,BTW.

Bentley, could you send me a pic of your p/s hose? Maybe measure the length? The sleeve on mine is about 10 inches but the return looks to be a replacement so I have no idea if it has/needs one.

Both must have had them as I only have one remaining on the return hose.

I seem to recall someone using the sleeve that Mustangs used. I have no clue whether or not it's correct or even close but thought I would share nonetheless.

I found a replacement hose cover, and they look pretty good, matched original covers really well.  I found them at Virginia Classic Mustang.com

Here's a picture before drivetrain was installed.

I usually get them from NPD.  Comes in a 20" length for same price $19.95, you just cut in in half and good to go.   NPD calls them a sleeve, part number 3B713-1A

Looks really good! How long is the one on your high pressure hose? The original one I have on the return hose is 6".
Thanks.

it is 10.5 inches. it looks super close to original. it is on there snug. i'm glad it fit over the crimped on fittings and sits on the hose not being loose. the return will be even easier not having to go over fittings. I would love to know the OD of the pressure and return lines from gm.

That is what I used and I agree too thick. Need to install what you guys found. Anyone have pictures of the NPD product?
