Past Due Introduction
« on: February 07, 2016, 05:39:34 AM »
Sorry, I joined 3 months ago. Never introduced myself. So I'd like to take this opportunity to say hi to all the good Camaro folk on here. This here is what I believe to be the best Camaro website on the net. A little history on my Camaro. I'm 25 years old in 1995 living with my parents. Saving up my money. Found a 69 ss on used car lot. Wound up buying it. I'm in Georgia, it was on title that car was from Virgina. Didn't know if it was real deal until I got to looking on CRG. It's for real Z27 L48 MC1 all #'s match. I was driving this car daily when dating the woman that became my wife. Got married in 1996. About 10 years ago I replaced the Muncie with a th350 auto and the cylinder heads with alininuim rpm's 850 cfm carb hi rise intake hooker super comp heerders 4.56 gear. Thought I'd do some bracket racing. That didn't last long ,torque converter broke. Been parked in my carport for 5 years. I still have all the original parts for it. New plan putting it back together original as possible before this year is gone. $  Dollar permitting. I'm sure it won't be show correct but it will be #'s matching and fun to drive! I've also got a 68 rs that I'd like to register with CRG. I have don't pic of vin but I'll get it.

1969Z27,  Not sure why I'm still up (2:25 am)..lol,  But let me be the first to welcome you here  :D

I like your idea of putting it back together as original... and that 68 RS, from the looks of it, the rear anyway.  It appears to be in good shape.  I hope you got it out of that field and given it some shelter   ;D

That 69 looks great in the pics, it seems like it isn't to far off from being back to stock. If you retained everything you took off, shouldn't take to much to get it back.  Do you have any current pics of either car?

These are current pics of 68. A little history. I bought this Camaro in 2008. The guy I purchased from bought it in 1981 after it had been involved in an accident. He removed complete drive train and installed it in an early 50's chevy coupe (souped up 327 Muncie 4 speed 12 bolt). I'm planning on doing opposite of what most folks would do with this Camaro. Install complete drive train from 72 more door x body (runs and drives). 250 six, Saginaw 4 speed with 3.11 low gear and 3.08 8.5" 10 bolt. Hoping this will be an economy car. 20+mpg's??
