What fender do I need?
« on: January 17, 2016, 01:52:35 AM »
Ok so I have a roller 68 it has a badge on the back that says it's an rs but thats all I see.The front fender does need an extension.I was going to order a replacement online but it says the one I was looking @ won't fit a 68 rs so I need to know what to look for so that I can purchase the correct fender?Thank you & I hope that I am posting in the right section.

If you have hide away headlights and lights in the lower valance you probably have a RS.

Welcome to the best Camaro website ever. If your Camaro is a factory RS the reverse back up lights will be located below the bumper.

Greaser,
Get one to match the other side. Pay close attention to the headlight bucket mounting tab location.

Nothing on the VIN tag or on the Fisher Body tag will tell you whether it is an RS or not on a 68.

See this link for more data on 68 Camaros.
http://www.camaros.org/diffs68.shtml

Then see this for the RS option.  Scroll down a bit.

You need to post some pictures of the car so we can get a good look at it.   8)

You do not need to make tabs, RS conversion fender brackets are made for standard fenders. Just about everything is made for these cars. What are your intentions with it? I see you need quarters too judging by the photo. Not all repro panels are of the same quality, so don't just go buy anything without asking first.

I actually do bodywork, its just I know very little about 1st gens, not my cup of tea,Its a long story basically we got some quarters but they were paper thin so went on the look for some good ones & decided to replace fender as it was my thinking to knock it all out @ once.I paid out the behind for good panels. Now there sitting waiting to go on.
