WOW! BIG budgets for aftermarket stuff! just a few months ago there was a guy at the Long Beach swapmeet selling for $350 a complete set-up. when I left he still had it. Another regular seller has at least 3 other SBC crossram manifolds that never seem to sell ($-??). Is there really a demand for these? Becuse there must be at least 20,000 69 Z-28's in SoCal alone!!

Me too! I would love to add one to my Z. 8)  I hardly ever drive the car & it already runs like crap, ;)  so it might as well look cool with the hood up.  ;D

Really?
I barely look at a car with a cross-ram.
Race parts on a street car don't do much for me, especially when the race parts ran like a dog on the racetrack and weren't used!
Spend the money and get the car tuned instead.

Question: So are those running a cross ram also running the matching 140 cam? Or stock 30/30 cam?

I've seen both. The 140 "off road" cam is pretty stout, idles higher than the 386 by several hundred, and would not be my #1 choice for a street cam. Headers do make them flow better either way. If you really get serious about one, I'd build the carbs exacly like the original 4295's in terms of innards, plus the 1:1 linkage setup (which is still available). BTW, the choke plates were not used on the 4295's, plus the shaft holes were not drilled for them, so I'd suggest plugging them, too. You can do this for "cheap" if you scrounge for the carbs, buy a used cross ram, and shop for the miscellaneous parts on eBay.

Couple of mine have gone on other Chevys as well, non-1st gen Camaros. I still think they are cool, old school and head turning. Will I run one on my Z's ? Know when I get there -

Regards,
Steve
