GM Mark of Excellence
« on: December 02, 2006, 03:07:32 PM »
I've run across a guy who has a great looking set of (what appears to be original 68) seat belts.  My question is about the buckles.  None of the Mark of Excellence symbols have the blue paint on them --not even a speck.  (I realize that could have been cleaned off through the years.)  Has anyone seen this before? (Did any buckle in any model or year come like that?)  Does anyone know what the name or number of the color of blue is?

If I am not mistaken the deluxe belts had a brushed silver and black logo... the buckle would also be brushed stainless not color keyed or black.

Does anyone have a picture of deluxe belts with brushed silver and black logo... or can you tell me where to find one?

Ssnake-Oyl Product, Inc., Hawkins, TX, 903-769-4555, www.ssnake-oyl,com, is a great resource for seat belt restorations, parts, date coding and belt application info.

Thanks, Dave.

Here's where I wound up:

I'll try their tech line on Monday.

The belts themselves are in great shape.  It's just the lack of paint on the GM button.  Still, would like to know if anyone knows what color of blue that is...
