Here is my CX tag, it cleaned up and the yellow is brighter after a cleaning with WD40 (Light solvent).
BTW it is out of a Kansan build L78 A body Camas Washington Chev car.

Not sure why there is a color change. If you search e-bay for "transmission tag" ( http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=transmission+tag&rt=nc) you'll see that someone is selling unstamped surplus tags that are a yellow, black, and teal. The two letter designation (e.g. "CC", "CX", etc) has to do with the engine and transmission combination.

Wait a minute, I getting confused now. What color are the '67 CC tags again?
They should be black and CA prefix tags are used on 67 Camaro BB's. CC prefix tags are used on BB Chevelles. CB was used on the big 427 Chevy's

I had sent Kurt a pic of the tag back in Jan 2011. I'm trying to find that photo but no luck so far. I do remember it being yellow though.
The car presently is encased in plastic on the lift while the convertible is being restored. I tried to get a picture today but I can't reach under it enough. I need one of those "selfie" gizmos and use the iPod for extended reach.
As soon as I get (or find) the photo I'll post it.

Does anyone know at what plant the Julian assembly date code on the transmission tag was stamped at? Most research indicates that it was at the Hydramatic plant but I believe it was at the engine dress line.
Looked at the CRG 67-69 Camaro Driveline Decoding but it does not tell where the stamping was done, but it indicates that is was done at the Hydramatic plant.

A transmission mfg plate SHOULD have been installed in the transmission plant where it was built; otherwise wouldn't make much sense to me...??

Mike,
Here you go. Black.

And all the data on the trans tag was stamped at the trans plant.

Thank you, Kurt! Yep...that's indeed the picture I sent you. You saved me from unwrapping the car to get under it for a better view.
I don't know why I see a yellow in my mind. I stand corrected now  :D

Update..... Should be black with CC prefix tags on 67 Camaro BB's. CA's used on full size Chevrolets because of long output shaft.
Thank you KurtS and MikeS.
