Hi Just Joined and looking for a 67-68 Camaro
« on: November 01, 2015, 11:29:35 AM »
Hi everyone..Have been lurking for a while and thought its time i joined in.

I am looking for a really nice 67-68 Camaro to replace my 67 mustang Fastback i have had a couple of years now.
Have a budget of around $40k usd
Looking for a finished car that has disc brakes, and power steering. Show quality.  Nice engine bay.  i know i cant afford a true SS

ideal car would be a Black or Blue paint work and a Black interior.
I know its neither of these, but been looking at this car on Ebay...   wondered what you experienced guys think.

Beautiful detailed engine bay, and interior although not original suits just fine..

Wait to hear    thanks  Pete

Hi Pete and welcome aboard!
Maybe you have but studying and learning info/facts about the 67/68 Camaro prior to purchase will be well worth the effort. Jerry McNeish has an excellent fact book on 67/68 Camaro's. Another area to check out is the Team Camaro website which has a category under "All Generations" named "What's it Worth" and there you could spend hours reviewing past cars reviewed. Just one of many places one can spend time absorbing Camaro information. Have fun with the journey!
I assume you live in the UK?
Again, welcome Pete!

I know just the right car,IMO. Darrell Cook's 67' SS clone, here, on CRG's site. Outstanding work and a prize winner.

Yeah... Darrells car is nice and clean. I'd start by getting a hold of him.

I would ditch the tramp bars and oversize wheels and tyres which imo spoils the look of the car.

Have sent him a pm..  Not sure if its still for sale?

Yes i am in Essex, England...about an hour from London

Have imported a couple of cars in the last 2 years.  A 57 Stepside Hot Rod i bought from a guy in Illinois (now Sold)
and a 67 Mustang Fastback i purchased from Vanguards (MI)  which is now up for sale...

Always had a 1st Gen Camaro on my bucket list...so guessed its time to get on with it!  My first Yank was a 74 Pontiac firebird i had some 36 years ago !!

Good for you, looking forward to seeing pics, and reading where you got it from. I am also curious to know how you did on selling your fastback over there, ( I have a 65 fastback  ;)

Yep..will get some pics up when its landed.
67 Fastback went easy..and got good money for it.  Had all the right options tho.  67/68 Fastbacks command strong interest
over here...same there i guess too.
A quality 65/66 fetches around mid £20k pounds,,

67/68 Fastbacks..  Quality cars are fetching £35-40k pounds.   Alot of cars coming onto the market from dealers that have bought them
for a quick sale...and in really poor condition.  Been blown over and are still full of rust..and bondo

and a few fools that are buying basket cases, with the intention of restoring them..  They usually run out of money
or interest before they get finished..
Importing parts here still costs a fair amount buy the time shipped over and paying 20% tax !
