69 ss/rs rag top
« on: January 26, 2007, 04:30:44 AM »
Hey Gang: Went to the Barrett-Jackson this last weekend and ran accross a 69 ss/rs convertable on sale. This car claimed to be a correct and freshly restored, which broght up a few questions in my mind. 1, Shouldn't a cowl hood ss car have the cowl hood air cleaner and such?,  Shouldn't a true ss car have the dual fuel lines? Just wondering if sombody got screwed paying $93,000 for a "recreation". Just curious

thanks Jerry

1. Cowl hood car should also have the cowl hood air cleaner and functional air valve, relay, wiring, etc.

2. An SS would have two fuel lines if it had a Q-Jet (L-48, L-34, L-35) or just one if it was an L-78.

People at BJ don't seem to care about a car being technically correct.  They just buy and ask questions later.  Lots of junk out there for sale, and many with fake paperwork.  I am already on two cases for cars bought that were misrepresented.  Imagine that.

All the 69 Z28s that I saw for sale had a crossram.  I suspect they were built that way?  The 1 4-bbl Z28s are very rare.
