Hey guys ! My 69 Camaro is a real RS, but when the previous owner had her restored, they did not installed the headlamp washers, as it should be on every RS.

Is there a complete retrofit kit (selenoid pump, washer nozzles, hoses, etc) that can be bought for an RS ? If not, what are the different kit/packages required for a complete retrofit and where to buy it ?

Is it the same parts required for an RS, or a regular Camaro ?

most of the parts are avail reproduction does your car still have the wiper motor that ends with 605 on it? is solenoid missing from it? the correct wiper motor is the $$ expensive part IMO, if you have that then just get what what you need most Camaro venders have the parts

Try this link for the headlight washer solenoid - as far as I am aware, Belair Bob's supplies these to most of the Camaro vendors -

Everthing from the nozzle and hose kits can be sourced through many vendors as mentioned above. Find the 5605 washer motor (or the end frame/bearing retainer and graft it onto your existing motor) and you're all set.

5605 is the wiper motor it was special to RS cars - not the pump - the only real difference was it had the holes for the RS solenoid Steve mentioned above

Your wiper motor will have a PN and date either stamped into the metal housing, or a silver colored sticker label with the PN and date...

The metal housings didn't have a stamped date code, so prior to the introduction of the Mylar sticker, there was no obvious way to date a '69 assembly.

ok, I had a look this morning to my car. First, how do you access the wipers motor ? Is it located under the grill, down the windshield ? What part needs to be removed ?

I took this picture of the pump itself....

your PN (xxxx605) RS wiper motor is stamped as evident in the photo you attached...

And you have the RS solenoid on it.
You need to run the hoses to the spray nozzles.

and post an additional pic of the driver's side of the solenoid so we can see the connectors. The solenoid wiring should be piggybacked into the wiper motor plugs on the front of the washer pump.

Looks like a pretty clean and original motor/solenoid combo to me - add the nozzles under the edge of the grill, hose and fitting kit if the originals are gone, and you're in business -

Good news, you have the right motor assembly. No sign of a Mylar sticker; what's the build date on the trim tag? I'm going to guess that it's prior to January of '69.

Thank you very much guys, for your patience with me ! I bought the car few months ago only, and I'm completely new in the restoration / muscle car business......and I can be everything, but a mechanic ! So I learn about this engine, this car, his feature, every day !

As I am restoring (my mechanic is restoring I should say) the engine to original state, I do have ordered already the solenoid pump, tubing and the sprinklers kit. Maybe I won't need the new selenoid I've ordered ? Anyway here are some more pictures from the driver side as requested. I'll try to see if there's a silver sticker, but so far I couldn't see any.

BTW my car is an LM-1 350Ci, so it has to be built within the first 4 months of the 69 model production. So the built date is 09B (we clearly see it on my second picture loll). Original color is (and still is) Daytona Yellow, and it was an RS model from the factory.

Ok, I've found the solenoid on top of the motor, right ? On the next picture, we see the hose male connector (without hose), made of white plastic (look yellow because of the flash), is there where the hose leading to the headlamp washer should connect ?

If yes, when I'm using my windshield washer, is it suppose to have some liquid coming out this small male connector ?

Wiring is intact, the whole unit appears to be a very good original. The plastic (nylon) tends to yellow with age and exposure to heat/dirt/grease, perfectly good patina. Notice the color difference from Belair's valve to the one on your RS. It also matches the color of your washer pump nylon.

If you ever disassemble it, be extremely careful with the hose on the end fitting - the wall where it blends into the lower valve housing is extremely fragile - a very thin wall, brittle plastic, and will crack or break off if you are not aware of it. Belair will sell parts, or at least they quoted me in the past, to replace lower valve housings along with the needle/spring assembly inside (which usually falls out or lost when the hose bib breaks). I would leave this one just like it is, install the hoses and nozzles if they are missing, and enjoy it. I'll include a link to get the silver part tag on the next post.
