I just took a look..  I really like reading the details on the 'Feature Car', but was a bit surprised that the other two cars had nothing (not even the owners name?)...

Let me see what I can track down on the other car owners names - and then I might be able to add those.

Bryon posts what he is sent. If the name isn't included....
I hated posting the pics without a name, btw.

I'd consider changing the picture rotation to a bi-monthly system. Less work and less pics needed.

Another cool feature car this month..  Check it out..

I would really like to see this become the norm of seeing members cars featured here..  The stories behind the car are what make these cars so cool..  I would also like to eventually see a sub category for unrestored original cars but that may be a stretch.

Darrell, I'm just curious, what would you consider to be an non-restored original car? Obviously, if the car is driven,  maintenance items would have to have been replaced over the years, etc. Things like plugs, and wires, brakes.

About the closest car I've read about to be completely original and non-restored was the Chevelle that was so original, it still had the original oil and filter. I think I saw pics of it on this site? But about the only was for that to happen is for the car to be stored in a garage new and never driven.

Very cool.  I don't know what Darrel's idea is for unrestored original cars but there are categories now to certify such cars with different levels of originality.   I've had a few unrestored cars over the years and still have a few left.  2 of them still show very well, and one I plan to have certified.
Usually it's a given to have normal wear items replaced.  I have a link around here somewhere I can find that lays it all out and what's accepted.  It's changed a bit over the last 10-15 years as you can imagine these cars keep getting older and getting harder to keep original.  Unrestored cars have really caught on lately.

To me original is numbers matching or at least the majority of the car is  and unrestored is just that; unrestored.  Regular wear and tear items are understood to have been replaced.  At least that is my interpretation.  I guess you could call it a Survivor sub category of forum..??..  I am not talking about any type of certification process just a sub category of the forum for original unrestored (survivor) cars to display their cars and parts.  This may not work as that is mainly what this site is about but there is also a lot of restoration discusses which is fine & nothing wrong with it.  I guess I like the Preservation Forum over on SYC and would like to see a more Camaro based one here.  Either way if there is not a lot of interest then there is no sense in bringing it up..

I definitely have interest in that category. Question: would we have to include 68's?

hahaha

I think we have enough guys on here to have a unrestored/preserved category going. Shoot I just learned that original rally wheels have some sort of a green tint to them.... So sure there is a ton of info that could be put into that, would it differ from the originality category though?

I was thinking more of the cars and its parts..  Not necessarily data collection or comparison.  Kinda like a showcase if you will..  Not really sure what it would involve or hold just talking out loud here.  Maybe threads or articles showing how to preserve (not restore) something or proper ways of cleaning or polishing original parts without damaging them or whatever the project or topic would be.  It very well may be redundant with the Originality cat..

The unrestored cars section is likely coming soon.  Trying to work out the details of how to handle that.  We don't want to duplicate the Originality section.

Hang loose...

My idea of cars I would like to see highlighted would need to
1. Have original engine, transmission, rear axle.
2. Have original paint or mostly original paint.
3. Have original interior or mostly original interior.

Wear and tear items - hoses, belts, filters, spark plugs, etc. wouldn't necessarily all have to be original.

Cars on the main page will now be updated every two months. Next change will be around December 1.

The black 68 now has a 406 SBC with 572 hp.
