Hey that is a great looking color. Also I couldn't tell,  is this a X33, or X77 car?

Forgive me for being naive but, why would a car with only 26k original miles need to be high end restored? (what does that entail?)

thanks

Hi BULLITT65

It is an X77 car - the X33 trim was added.

It is my understanding that the restoration process was minor & was mainly re-furbishing components...it has been re-painted using laquer.

Does it have an electric antenna or is it just hard to see in the pic? Besides the X33 trim was anything else added?  Also when was it produced (according to the firewall tag)?

thanks

Thank you for the nice comments.

BULLITT65 - it has an AM radio with telescopic antenna & the trim tag is a 04C. The ZL2 hood was also added.

interesting I would have thought your steering wheel would have had the wood grain, I thought the lower dash and steering wheel was part of the Z/23 package? But maybe not, because I do not see a grab handle either.

So was the lower dash wood a separate option then? Or was it included with the wood grain console? (since I have never seen a console without the wood grain)

D55 got you the driver's side dash woodgrain trim, as well as Z23. Z87 included the Z23 items and also added the woodgrain on the passenger's side (ashtray and glovebox areas).

Does this mean that this car should have wood grain on the steering wheel, dash molding, bright metal pedal trim & a grab bar? (These are all part of the z23)

JM's report did not mention this as a component issue?

Without knowing original options, can't say for sure but the interior looks correct for a car that had D55 but NOT Z23. More info on Z23 available here: http://www.camaros.org/options.shtml#CustomSpecialInterior
and woodgrain availability here: http://www.camaros.org/interior.shtml#woodgrain

I misunderstood - I get it now - thank you :)

They are two separate options that both include the wood grain on the instrument cluster.

This car does not have z23

So with 156,225 cars with console, and 66469 with Z23, instrument panel without the wood grain are the minority.

No it should not have a wood grain wheel.  The lower dash woodgrain came with the D55 console option.  The wood grain wheel trim, stainless pedal trim and passenger dash assist handle came with the Z23 option, and the Z87 option added the woodgrain to the passenger side dash, and different door panels and seat covering packages, trunk vinyl pad and underhood insulation (unless the car was an SS then the insulation came as part of the SS package).

This is a very nice car.  It has qualified for "Legends Certification."  Z28's like this don't come around that often.  I did a lot of tuning on the car while at my shop.  It had not been driven for many years.  This car runs and drives like a brand new Z28.  Even though I'm not a '69 Z guy, I would not mind having this one in my garage!  I too am a big fan of Dusk blue.

Since you see so many, other than the color (which is nice) what made this one stand out so much?

A well documented 26,000 original mile car.  All of the hard to find parts, alt, dist, carb, radiator, wheels, etc. have never left the vehicle.  Very hard to find in today's market.

I predict that if it keeps going the way it is, in 2 years from now he will sell all 3 for $500K. But $500K will not be worth what it is today.

Lets see,

67 Z - $200K   -  68Z - $150K  -  69Z - $220K

Add'em all up - its $570K.

Include the 10% buyers premium - $57K

Folks - we're all in at $627K

I believe BJ get's an additional %8 fee from the seller.

Looks like the buyer just had to have them.

Sale price total would have been $200k for the white '67 Z, $150k for the red '68 Z and $200k for the '69 Z28.  That's $550k plus 10% to the buyer, grand total $605k.  I was there, this buyer wanted all three of the Bryan Frank Z28s.
