I'm gonna throw a little more fuel on this fire. I also have an original 06E build from Norwood with the white paint also.

I'm sorry Bryon, I thought everyone knew that "Original"only pertained to 67's. Everything after that is a copy!!   Lol. Just kidding, don't want to offend anyone(even though it's true)

Well the UOIT tag was on every 67 vehicle and was larger and showed the options much clearer than any trim tag.

But I still don't understand your comment.  You said you also have a late 67 Camaro.

Tags with white paint them are known through the 67 model year and even into the early part of the 68 model year.

It seemed to me that there was some question as to when the practice of doing this stopped, so I was just throwing out there that what I consider a late year built 67 to still have this condition on it. Both are Norwood cars. When did they shutdown the plants to switchover to start re-tooling for the 68 line?

Shutdown in 67 was in July, with things switched over to the 68 model year before the end of August.

And there are some early 68 model year cars with the white tag.  My 68, built in September of 67, is one that seems to have had some white paint on the tag originally.  There are also other 68 tags with the white paint.
