2016 Camaro
« on: May 15, 2015, 08:19:00 PM »
CNBC has a video out with Dan Ammann doing a test drive of the new Camaro. Also, some pictures of an undisguised one. Petty cool. I believe the reveal is today... Whoops, make that tomorrow.  ;D
Anyone going to Detroit for the unveiling?

I'll have to wait a bit to look at the 2016's - I can't get this 2015 out of my mind yet.

On the floor at a local dealer - note the front fender emblems. Whipple supercharged COPO, 350/3 speed auto, deadliest looking Camaro I have witnessed in a while. Drop dead gorgeous if I do say so -

I offered several first generations in trade, but they are holding firm at $150K cash and out the door. Tremendous drool factor involved here -

Steve

That is strictly a drag only car though right? (You cannot legally register to drive it on the street)

Correct - sold on a bill-of-sale, not capable of registration. Interesting letter in the window - I'll have to copy it off and post.

I looked at ZL-1's locally a while back. They make a lot of sense over the COPO, but for some reason this thing just gets to you on sight. I was not ready for how this thing just rivets your attention when you see it -

Looks to me like GM is trying to move into the new buyer market with the 2016, COPOs not withstanding. There is even going to be another four banger.

Ill take my SS, ZL1, Z28, COPO in blue..

Curious to see what options will be avaliable as well as if there are going to be any new paint choices.  I really like it and the new Mustang.  Both are  great looking cars..

I'm glad they were able to cut some more weight out of it, but I will be looking forward to a retro face lift. The bottom grill with the SS emblem is a bit distracting for me. :-\

If it were me the SS model would get the bowties dropped and the SS emblems in their places..  To me the bowties are the distracting focal point..  Also glad they refined the heat extractors from the 2015 model..  I was not a fan of it..
