Temperature sender connector for pin type sender

(1/2) > >>

My68SS:
After reading some posts including this one http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=7732.msg51924#msg51924 it seems that 1513130 is the correct sender for 68 v8 w/gauges [1513321 for 67 and 1513462 for 69]
1513130 is what's in my L34 with gauges, but I'm missing the correct clip on the end of the wire.

This particular connector seemed impossible to find anywhere, but I did find this repair kit at classic http://www.classicindustries.com/product/impala/parts/ca34620.html which includes connectors for 3 of the variations of senders.
But, these pics here http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=10187.msg79618#msg79618 shows a connector that is white, not black as in classic's kit, though black may be correct for 68's?
Thoughts appreciated.

My car still has the original connector, and it is almost clear plastic (although it has aged and certainly turned a little yellowish over the years).  Lectric Limited has a repair piece available, part number VRK6871TS.  IIRC, the LL plastic piece is a whitish/opaque color.  I can't remember or sure, as I bought the piece only to use the metal part of the connector.

L78 steve:
In the available repair kits If its the Nail head sender the repair connector is off white. If its the Pin style sender The connectors come in black.

My68SS:
Hi crew, thanks for chiming in and pointing me to the lectric connector, though the water just got a little muddier for me  :D
The lectric connector is opaque white and of a style where the wire is 'in line' with the sender pin axis, whereas the classic one is black and has the wire at right angles to the pin axis.

It seems that neither of these is correct, as it should be translucent white or clear and at right angles?
If this is the case, then the classic one is the best compromise.

Cheers,
Rob

edit: In fact the lectric one almost looks like it's porcelain and immediately above it is kit 34620 which is very similar to classic's kit, though the lectric one has the eyelet [bolt -on type sender connector] already terminated to the wire and the others loose.
Even more perplexing is that lectric quotes that kit as being for everything except 68 with gauges!  ???

L78 steve:
Also check out American Autowire.

I'm confused. The gauge sender is the Nail head design and the lamp sender is the pin style. If you have a 68 with gauges then I believe you need the nail head sender. So then you need the connector that slides in perpendicular to the sender head. Sender # 01513321 is correct.
