Accepted for the 2015 MCACN.. YAY!!
« on: April 06, 2015, 04:39:35 PM »
Well, my car has been accepted for judging in the Legends class in Nov. I have paid my fee and I am on the roster.  ;D  I feel honored to be chosen, as they only pick around 15 cars. Going to have it trailered out by Reliable. Booked my room at the O'Hare Double Tree last night. Got the LAST room of the MCACN block of rooms. Whole deal with flights, car shipped, room, etc. is going to run in the 5 to $6000 range.. OUCH! Shipping the car out is of course the biggie. Selling off all my car parts I was keeping for trade value, along with a bunch of personal stuff to help raise the money to pay the CC's. I don't have very many parts but what I DO have should raise 2 or 3K.. I will make it happen... Good Times ahead! Might have to sell the car at the show to make it home.. :D  ;)
Looking forward to meeting many of the CRG gang, and at the same time, seeing some of the best muscle cars in the world - In ONE Place. This will be my first time..
And I also want to thank Mr. Steve Shauger for all his work on this for the past 17 years or more. And for getting me all plugged in for this great event.
Last but not least.. Please post here if you are going... Danny

I realized I forgot the "g" in "Legend" in my original post. But anyway, just excited to get certified as an original survivor and meeting everyone. Not trying to get a trophy or anything.

Jon, cool, Maybe we will be able to connect, since last time I couldn't read the correct swap meet spot  ;D

Thanks for bringing it Danny. You will have a ball. Pretty much anyone that goes never wants to miss another one. We need more CRG guys there.

Not sure it breaks it down on the site: What is the rough break down of the cars that are shown?

Or simply, of all the cars that are presented or looked over, how many Camaros Vs Corvette Vs all other GM models?

Is there a significant difference between Bloomington GOLD/ Survivor Show, Corvette Nationals and the MCACN, or all they all considered to be a feather in your cap by going and getting certified?

BULLITT;  It's not just GM.  They have had many displays of other brands.(Mr. Norm comes to mind)  It's really a great show, couple years ago they had a display of '69 COPO's in every color.  Usually always have Nickey, Baldwin, and Fred Gibbs cars as well as Yenkos. A lot of nice cars you just don't see every day. Been there many times, I live just 2 hrs. west of there.

Hi Danny, and thanks for supporting our show and the Vintage Certification program. As many have said you will have a blast at the event as the breadth and scope of cars participating is amazing. Having someone as enthusiastic as you participate in our program is fantastic. MCACN is always fresh event due to the many showcases and unveilings. New for Vintage Certification this year I've set aside a couple of slots for original owners to have their cars Vintage Certified at no cost. Our first original owner car is 1965 Impala SS 396-425 hp with 22k miles.

Anyone interested in participating in our program and wanting to know more about it go to our website at : www.vintagecertification.com
As been mentioned we limit the number of certifications to 15 vehicles because our program requires us to spend 3 hours per car. I recommend contacting us early because our program is filling up fast. Also for those interested in displaying their unrestored car, we also have our Heritage Display area. This allows unrestored cars to be displayed together and allows like minded hobbyist to share information and stories.

Presently we have (2) LS6 Chevelles, 66 Mustange Shelby, 67 Corvette, 72 Lemans 455HO, 1968 Camaro Z28, 1969 Camaro ZL1, 1965 Impala SS 396-425.

Very much looking forward to this exciting can't miss event, along with meeting new friends and seeing old ones.

For some reason the pictures will not show when I go to the website (may be my browser). I was just trying to get a rough breakdown by manufacturer for the show since I haven't been able to attend yet. It sounds like one of those events that you attend once, and then put it on your calendar every year after to go to because it is such a unique show. :)

Steve and team completed our 69 L78 Nova last year at another event and I highly recommend the experience. And overall the MCACN show is the best I've ever attended as the cars are just the best of the best. Last year was my first but hopefully will be back this year and many more. For sure plan on taking our 68Z out there when completed.
Great show and great people!
