T-3 Headlights
« on: March 22, 2015, 04:20:52 AM »
Need two T-3 Headlights for my car. Anybody know which ones? There are SO MANY. I hear the triangle with vertical lines info. But there are some that say sealed beam above the triangle, some below, some have LARGER font T-3's some have smaller, some are 6001 series, some are 6012 series, some are 6013, some have a big "1" at the top, some have a big "2" at the top. The list goes on and on help!!...  ??? ???  Danny

Danny if complete some searches there is a lot of information to be found. You hit the biggest thing being the vertical lines in the T3 emblem. The number you mentioned is the mold # I believe JohnZ has mentioned before and they are 6012's. Grab what you can as they are becoming harder and harder to obtain and repro production stopped early last year. If purchasing make sure they are tested prior. Luckily both the orig dated headlights from our 68Z work but many have told me if your headlights are kept on for periods of time other than a check you run the chance of failure. True or not, don't know but first time son drove his 69 L34 Nova at night the one low beam went.

Jan 19th 1965! They would not have the vertical lines in the T3 emblem.  The 2 (not 12) represents the line. First time I saw this chart was years ago when JohnZ shared it. Great chart for sure..... Danny, a lot of T3's have been cleaned and the ink stamping is either gone or not very legible. Get what you need but do not worry about a date code no one can see. Just my thought!
