Coil spring shim used to even out height ??
« on: March 16, 2015, 06:39:25 PM »
Anyone know for sure if shims for coil springs where used by GM engineers (typically one side) to even out a car that was leaning to one side ??  I heard shims were used but have not been able to confirm this.  I would think the shim would change the spring characteristics.

No, not ever. Dealers may have used them in the field to rresolve complaints, but they weren't released or specified GM parts.
