1969 camaro Z28 Shifter rods

I recently took out my shifter rods and noticed  my levers were stamped 5615 on both rods. I looked up those numbers and they were installed on 1970-72 Camaro Z28,s .My Z28 is a early September built car. Would it be possible that the 5615 rods and levers were used on my car since it was such a late built car ?

I would be very skeptical about that being factory.  The 1970-1/2 Muncie tail housing and the '70-1/2 -'72 Camaro shifter mounting plate are completely different and will not interchange with '69 pieces.  The later '70 console is not in the same place as the '69 console so the shifter would not end up in the right place.  The '70 and up tail housing has only 3 bolt holes and they are not like any of the 5 on the '69 and earlier tail housing.

Can the '70-'72 shift rods be used with a '69 style shifter/mounting plate/tailhousing? - I would not be surprised at all if the rods can be forced to work but they are not being used as originally designed.  They could be field installed and be functional,  just not factory installed.  JMO.
