Soft seal weatherstripping from NPD

Does anyone have experience with the current Soft Seal door weather stripping from NPD. I need the trunk seal, both door seals and the header seal that goes on the front of the convertible top. I believe in the past Soft Seal just did not compress properly and it was hard to shut the doors. They were not latex but something else. Any thoughts on this is appreciated.

Not aware of any changes made to their door w/s and the this past year at shows no was stating any change so assume its the same dense material.  If it changed a lot of folks would like to know as it was difficult to work with and has had more than one person frustrated.

You might want to check out Metro..They sell complete kits that fit and work fairly well..............

Put them in my '67....no issues..in fact I have never had any problems with anything that I have bought from them albiet mostly smaller detailed type items as shipping kills me but it is fun to order a package once or twice a year.bigger items I get litttle closer...Randy

Classic Headquarters seems to be what I used if I remember right.  SOFT.  Came with a kit of mixed vendors.

Installed the Soffseal brand from NPD specifically the door w/s for my convertible. Fit great with no problems. Sealed like a glove. Doors closed great.

I installed the Soft Seal door weatherstrips and they are now hollow, you can't tell (visually) from the appearance however they "crush" much more than the old Soft Seal.
The biggest difference other than the fact they are not latex covered foam are in the ends, the original has a stamped metal plate molded in where it attaches to the door the Soft Seal does not, they have flat washers installed in those places.
I am not 100% sure however I believe the OER Latex Foam WS I installed in the last car did have metal plates.

I agree and it is very soft. Plus Metro has the end reinforcement in the door rubber. I'm not sure if it is metal or a very hard plastic, but you can see and feel a reinforcement plate molded into the end.

Yes without hesitation the extra cost is nominal for the original look and compression.

Take in mind the doors shut like a survivor with no extra effort required and close with OEM sound, thud.








OER is as close to NOS as you are going to get.
