hello, newbie needs some help decoding
« on: December 19, 2014, 06:36:18 PM »
Hello, newbie here, am doing a restoration on a 69 ss 350, am trying to figure out, what day and year this car was made, and generally what specific wheels came on it. Have been done a lot of reading to catch up but it is overwhelming, thanks much

Using your VIN, we can figure within a day or so of when your car came off the production line, but that can't be done from the information you've provided so far.   The 12D approximate production week would suggest it was planned for late December 1968, and that corresponds fairly well with your BDY NBR.

There's no way to tell what wheels it came with although if it's a true SS that would have established the 'base SS' wheels, although there's options beyond those wheels.   Read the information on the CRG and you will learn *most* of what you need to know pretty quickly...

What would t136 mean. Shouldn,t that be an X code on a 12D car?

Thanks much for the input! What other info do you need for further info on car? A brief history, I have owned car for about 20 years, I got it (pulled it out of a field), had been sitting there since about 77, very, very minimal corrosion problems,  it has been sitting indoors since then, and now  its getting complete resto, was a very complete car (unmolested) trying to keep and recondition as much as the factory parts as I can and keep it original, thanks again!

My 69 rs/ss came with the mag style hubcaps (sold the car over 30 years ago)
