Have a lead on a 396 Z10 body no engine or trans.
« on: November 07, 2014, 07:27:50 PM »
Well a year ago I had a friend pass away that I did business with, his wife is looking to get rid of the cars but all 3 of them are just bodies no motor or transmissions.
One is a big block Z10, the others are plain jane 69 camaro's, the cars are located in Oklahoma but have been sitting outside for many years. I have never seen them or pictures of them yet, I have a feeling they are a little on the rough side.
Was hoping to hear what kind of prices people are getting for the Z10's  I seen a few pictures from a ebay auction that had a unrestorable body but still sold for around 8500, figured they must have planned to purchase a dynacorn body and just transfer the tags.
sorry about no pictures but hopefully she will seen them to me this weekend

Thanks Paul, I really curious to how bad these three cars and obviously the z10. She knows it's a rare car so I will be curious to how much she wants for it. But then like I told her without the orig motor and trans it's going to have limited potential and with them sitting outside all these years I am sure there will be allot of hidden rot even if the panels look reasonable.
I fiquired if it's to far gone for my taste then maybe I can find a potential buyer for her.

That is a rare piece if it actually is a factory big block Z10 car.  Did the owner indicate if it is a manual or auto trans?  A/C?  Even if it sat out for years, Oklahoma climate is pretty easy on metal compared to the Northeast.  Might still be in restorable condition.  PICS?

I did not ask the wife and I forget any real details about the car when I last talked about it with her husband
Hope to get pictures this weekend, I asked her to make sure to pics of the tags and the bad spots.
I expect the car to be a true big block car but we shall see.

While it needs a whole lot of work, it sure looks allot more save able than the 8700 one on eBay

The X44 car doesnt have emblem holes in the fenders..  Also is it a blue interior and Cortez Silver??  Might be worth it to look into it.  Also do I only see one fuel line on the Z10 car?

The x44 does seam look like a Cortez silver paint on dark blue interior, probably a nice color combo. It is strange it has no emblems, maybe a previous accident which would explain the color change.
The X11 is a hugger orange black interior
Ashame my friend stored these cars in the manner there where, hopefully there is enough body parts for 2 complete cars, she says she has lots of extra parts but who knows what that really means

I know of the car. And Elaine contacted me earlier this year about it.

I think it's an L78. Rare car. Find another L78 Z10. And doesn't look too bad. He had to buy the others to get the Z10. BB has been gone for years, had a 350.
I wouldn't touch a thing until I had Jerry verify the car and chased down prior owners.

Thanks Kurt! how do I contact Jerry, sorry I am new around here :)

Besides the single gas line what other clues are there to the car being a L78?
