I'm more attracted to these type of cars than I am to restored cars....   it's likely a personal problem.. :)

Gary, I agree with you. Cool car with what seems to be an honest description and decent pictures. Its to bad if the original engine was lost along the way.

I like the car. But some work has been done to it. Bottom of hood should be painted black.
6K redline?

It struck me as a car that had been loved and enjoyed over many years...  not as a show car, but as a 'member of the family' that you jump in and go do things..  and those kinds of cars get 'modified' in small ways
over that many years.. :)

The engine issue sounded to me as if it *could* be the correct engine, although I didn't see any images of the pads or dates etc...

Kurt,

Do you think the 'special paint' operation *might* have included the bottom of the hood as well..?   It appears to have been painted for a *LONG* time under there..    There's also the possibility that it was a special paint, but not *that* special paint at the factory... and the current owner is *assuming* that blue was the factory sprayed color...  Not many can look at a nice paint job and tell whether it's 45 yrs old, OR only 41 yrs old.. :)

Nice car, ever been a Carolina Blue '68 documented?  A couple of minor things I spotted, looks like it was ran without Air Cleaner at some point, and had a "backfire".  Also, description states Posi-traction rear-end, but no deal on underside of the Trunk lid. And no sign that there ever was one.

Is it me or is that VIN on the title incorrect? Too many digits after the L? No pic of the actual VIN.

Good eye!  Yup, one extra digit in the vehicle serial number sequence.  All first-generation Camaros had a thirteen-digit VIN.

I asked the seller about the VIN and here is the reply.

"Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you are correct. I checked the VIN near the windshield and it doesn't have the extra "9". All other characters are the same."

Is it me, or should there only be one dash for spec paint and "2" for black vinyl roof?

It's you, a '68 LOS special paint Camaro could also have three dashes (without a vinyl or convertible top)... http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#ExteriorColors:S:SpecialPaint

Here's an example with three dashes...
