Measurement between the quarters
« on: September 20, 2014, 03:42:25 AM »
Hi to all, I'm new and have been restoring a 68 RS/SS big block. It was a mess, rusty bucket. New floor new A pillar post new roof structure, new trunk, new book shelf, now I'm on the piece between the trunk and the rear window, the new piece has me worried because it seem to be pushing the quarters out. I'm going to test fit the trunk lid tomorrow but does anyone know the measurement from seam to seam? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

Attached is an image from my '67 hardtop that has all original sheet metal. Its width is 46 14/16" from seam to seam as measured along the bottom edge with a metal tape measure. When you measure from edge to edge be aware the ruler will show a visual arch due to the panel surface curve and you can see that in the left corner of the picture.

PS: Excuse the primer dust as the car below it is being block sanded (the color is actually tahoe turquoise)  ;D
