    What is the best/proper way to get the best results to adjust the jets on my 2bbl carb? Had carb off to repaint engine and tidy up carb,starts and runs fine but once engine warms up,it is a little ruff in drive,and a bit of pressure on go pedal to keep from stalling.Idels fine on cold starts.thanks in advance Randy

How did it run before you took the carb off?   Sounds like you might have a gasket leak----to truly adjust jets per reading plugs, must be done ASAP after a load put on the engine. At the drags ,before you get your slip and idle to the pits.That being said, unless mods were made to your engine ,manufacture should have it pretty dialed in....I believe 500' above sea level off the top of my head. You would go up or down 1 jet size based on the altitude you operate in. Also never over look the sticking choke.

Car ran fine,I figured I moved the jet screws a bit while cleaning the carb and did not mark where the screws were,new gasket installed.

Do you mean jets or idle screws?  If it's the idle screws, a good starting point is to run them all the way in, then back them out 1-1/2 turns. That will put you in the ballpark. Sounds like you may have gotten it a little lean and it's trying to pull fuel from the main boosters with your foot on the pedal. Good luck and hope this helps.

I'd check the gasket between the carb and the manifold - had one actually fail on me about 20 yrs ago while driving my '69 RS (327 cid / 210 HP / 2 Bbl Rochester) down I-12 in SE Louisiana.  As long as I was cruising ant 70, it ran fine.  As soon as I exited the interstate and came to a stop it died.  New carb to manifold gasket and all was good to go.

Unless the idle mixture screws are way off (typical setting is about 1-1/4 turns out from seated position) I would be looking for a vacuum leak which is allowing too much air into the intake at idle and causing the car to want to stall.
