And now the fun begins...
« on: May 09, 2014, 05:00:10 PM »
After a long winter of sitting on my hands concerning the Z ,it's coming back from paint this week. Somewhere around 300-400 pics were shot by my body man on or lack of bodywork needed ( total non OE sheetmetal can fit in my hand) and it has all been recorded in the process. Along with sheetmetal codes ,thanks for locations guys :) I like a certain white 68Z's pictorial documentry ,and will be sending you an email in the near future to get me on track with mine. ;D

Many, many hours lay ahead to get this car were I want it ,but certanily on track. That's were the fun is !

It should be home end of next week at latest, Tues pm at earliest. My work schedule is really busy but we'll get it home.

They'll be some quick off the trailer shots...then it's coming back apart. Detail subframe, rearend, you know the drill. Engine/trans done.Nothing mechanical needs done. Detail. We discussed order of doing this ,6 of one , 1/2 dozen of another, it just works better this way based on our schedules.to me shell #1 priority ( my paint guy) everything else can be picked away at in my shop. No lack of room. The Anglia was a complete fab job ,so I'm really no stranger to assembly-disassembly--assembly...etc.

Bob has all the paint shop pics and I'll be downloading them off his camera.
Lots to sort through. Will drop a few on here when I have them , for me ,I'm looking for sheetmetal codes. He shot as he found, so we'll see.

Up at the shop this morning ,in the booth. Ran up the stencil kit. We reviewed some pics and discussed the stripe layout. He's making his own album and is going to burn off a copy for me. BTY here is a shot of all the rot cut out--guess where ?? Kid' back home from college, looks like we have some fun in the shop planned this summer.

Back yesterday , Bob just finished it Monday and was sweating it sitting in the shop. Had to come home. fender extensions and upper/ lower valiance are done ,just not on it as the clips coming back off. Flat hood and non-RS lower valiance getting shot this winter (non-priority). Not without adventure: trans cooling line went on my F250, idling in the barn while I was getting the trailer ready...kid's truck not wired for the flat trailer. Almost 50 and had to call Pop to bail me out  >:(    He was stoked to see it anyway ,fate. Many hours lay ahead, and only received a quick buff to get it home looking good .

Sometimes colors that blend with pavement, concrete, and grass.. or the nighttime (flat black).  can be an advantage... eg..   running from something?   maybe with flashing lights?   to let you know they are back there? :)

OTHERWISE..  HO is super FINE...  :)

Overcast it pretty much looks the same as when it went in ,when the sun hits it is when I notice the difference.
