That Caddy (1912) was the first car to have a starter. Thanks to Charles Kettering and Henry Leland. And you guys thought I only knew Camaro facts?!
Actually, you should thank Byron J. Carter (Leland's friend) who died as a result of injuries he sustained when he tried to hand crank start a Cadillac. Carter’s death was the impetus for Charles F. Kettering and Henry M. Leland to develop the electric self-starter.
