68 Deluxe seat emblem location??
« on: April 08, 2014, 05:04:30 PM »
I am ready to start installing my 68 Houndstooth covers & I was wondering does anyone know the correct 68 Houndstooth seat emblem location? I figure I can look at a picture & guess but I would rather know the correct emblem placement. My car was originally a 712 car so I don't have anything to go off of? I have new buns for the front and I am using an old 69 Confortweive rear seat for the rear as the core.
 Thank you in advance,
 Nick

I found something on Team Camaro that said 2 1/6 from the pipping on the rear & 2 3/16 on the front buckets.

Are you using OE or aftermarket emblems and did you find backing plates?
I am doing the interior on one of my cars and I can't find any backing plates

In the past, no one manufactured replacement backing plates.  They are now available from several vendors.   You can try Lone Star Car Parts (ebay), or call Steve's Camaro's in San Bruno, Ca. (see his web site for tele #).  There may be other vendors if you do an internet search.

Center of the Emblem is 4" above the welt line for the insert.
