Early 68 Camaro SS/RS stripes - D90 or D91?
« on: February 02, 2014, 11:05:27 AM »
Hi All,
Mine is a 11B LOS (Built 2nd Week November '67) 68 Camaro SS/RS. I've read that the early 68 SS builds had the D91 stripe option but that later changed to SS's only having the D90. What's the closest date anyone can confirm that the SS no longer had the D91 and could only have D90 or stripe delete? I prefer the D91 but also want keep the originality.
Front panels have been replaced at some point and are not original, so I can't go digging through layers of paint to check. Not sure I would want to anyway...

Cheers and keep up the good work here on the site!.

Early 1968 production used the 1967 "Bumble Bee" stripe (RPO D91). Then, staring the first week of January, 1968, they went to the "Hockey Stripes" (RPO D90). The D91 "Bumble Bee" stripe continued as an RPO on all cars EXCEPT SS for the duration of the 1968 model year.
