Welcome to the site!!  You picked the correct year Camaro.   ;)

Engine is out of either 1970 Corvette 350ci 300hp manual trans or 1974 B body car 400ci 175hp 400 trans  Need to look at the casting date.

What is the build date on the tag?

Corvette Bronze, blk standard interior V8 car.  Do you have pics?

One of the others will have to look into the database to see if there is any info on your car.

One thing the '68 Camaro had that the '69 didn't....  was 'Corvette Bronze' paint color..  :)  which I love...

That is the block casting number.  The casting date is on the opposite side of the engine from the '010' number.. at the back.   Should be 3 or 4 digits..

3970010 is a 4" bore block, so that rules out the 400ci engine.

wow those date codes are so hard to read.

All of my parts that Ive had to replace on the motor were to fit a small block 350, if it were a 400 would all the parts fit still?

eg rocker covers,  inlet manifold exhaust manifolds?

They are basically the same.  Main differences are the ci and external (400) vs internal (350) balancing.

010 casting was only used for the 350ci.  Great block to build on.

Darrell...  I can't believe you left out the '69 Z28 302 from 'engines using the 010 block'...    *G*

I guess I should have put a disclaimer.

In 1970 it was only used for the 350.

Better?   ;D ;D

Nice '68, Matt
Correct year, of course, and better with Corvette Bronze and black interior.

Yeah I didnt like the corvette bronze to begin with but it has grown on me now. Eventually I think Ill restore it to its former glory!

As you can see in the pix its red with white strips thort that looked cool still.

The history of the car is that its been in storage for about 20 years after the original owner painted it up and then passed away his wife then sold it

I think to the guy I had bought it off then he said spent some doe on it, now its in Australia with me. something like that anyways.

Itll be cool to find out info on this car.

So on that the car is RS/SS 350 it had a bit of work done to the motor but had to take it off cause of the laws here (so ridiculous!!)
