Silver Z pictures from 1971 with second owner
« on: January 11, 2014, 01:58:48 PM »
I just got these pictures from the second owner along with original dealer sales brochures for 1968 and 1969. He also sent me the 20 original lug nuts from the car. I bought NOS window trim from him also. I hope to pick up some other things as he finds them.

Enjoy

Someone should tell them not to sit on the fender or valence, especially the valence...  :)   (did he leave any depressions in the valence?).. :)

nope

Now you know that was the cool thing to do back in the day. I remember leaning on my cars when I was in High School. ;)

It just doesn't get any better than that. Very nice!! I was lucky enough to make contact with the original owner of my 69 Hugger Orange Z and he sent me original polaroid pictures of it when it was new and then the car he purchased next. A Hugger 70 Yenko Deuce with him leaning against the fender.
Lawrence, like me I'm sure it made your day when you received them.   Congrats!

Very cool pictures! I can't imagine how proud he must've been to pose with the car (and probably the girlfriend too), when I think back to my first few cars in my late teens and early 20's, they were only one step away from the junkyard..... but all I could afford at the time.

Here are the pictures from my original owner that I posted over on Team Camaro a few months ago. I know a lot of you are on that site as well and maybe saw it but thought maybe some on here have not.
Also an update on the Yenko. After the post I was contacted by the Yenko guys and with Merlin's help I did track down the Deuce and talked to the last registered owner that totaled it out in the late 70's. It was then parted out :(

You have to feel pretty good when something neat like that happens. Know how I felt when the orig. owner of our 68Z sent me this picture along with copies of the bill of sale, trade in info, etc. Picture was taken in 1970.

Chick, am I reading that tag right?  GM 1259? Thats kinda cool.  Also noticed an error in my post. It should have read Marlin, not Merlin. Sorry Mr. Spotts if your are reading this :)

Yeah, I noticed that the young man looked a little stiff and stuffy in Chick's photo opposed to the two laid back, cool looking dudes in Lawrence and my old photos leaning on there cars  :)

I think it is the registration sticker. In New York at least, back in the old days, you got a registration sticker every year and put them on the license plate. Notice how there is a raised box on the plate for the sticker to go.  After five or six years, you would have  five or six stickers. When I found the "302" New York plates for my Z, I used a heat gun to peel off 1973, 1972, 1971, and 1970 to get to the orig 1969 reg sticker.

Chick did the original owner work for GM ? Engineer maybe ?

That is a good question. With the young man looking very business like and the front plate reading GM 1259.
I really enjoy all the old original photos!

Here are a few old original pictures from 1969  L 78  a car I owned. It's a southern Oregon car not far from Roseburg, Oregon. So it may have tangled with the blue 69 Z on  Ebay from Roseburg.
