Closet Find..
« on: January 04, 2014, 03:23:59 AM »
Since I am stuck inside due to sickness and the fact its just too freakin' cold outside I ran across a couple mags in the back of a closet.  Neat little article in Rodder & Super/Stock about the 68 L35; along with a pull out photo of the Grump.  Also if anyone needs to know the price of a new 1968 vehicle just let me know.   ;D

Funny, I was sick too and with it being sooo coold, I too dug out some old mags. Right now, the commode reading room has a stack of 1952-3 Speed Age and another 1965-7 various Hot Rod type mags. Happy read'in and thanks for sharing and get well.

sweet find. in the 80`s my neighbor drag raced for 20 + years and gave me is 25 year collection of national dragsters. it was a weekly nhra drag racing publication. i liked it for the used cars and the old super stockers. the used car section had sweet 57 chevys for $ 1,200 and nice vetts for 3000 to 5000. i wish them days were still here.

Nice find Cook. I also lucked out, An old rodder that lived across the street from one of my muscle car buddies ended up giving me his magazine collection that he acquired from his high school library back in the day. I have boxes of pristine hot rod, car craft, custom rodder, mags from the early 1950's (comic book size) on up through the 80's when the fad was to paint everything one color, monochrome? or the multi colored scallops. My father in law and I dug up a magazine stand and have about 50 choice issues in the rack for educational reading in bathroom at our shop. One thing that stands out is even into the 70's the first gen Camaros were seen as something worth having, and as time progressed you could still see new fads and how they stacked up versus the 60's favorite fast rides. The COPO and 69 Z were the bench mark for some time it seemed.
