Thats pretty exciting meeting with the original owner. The original owners wife and family live in northern Michigan, it was about 3 to 4 hours from where I was in northern Indiana.   I would to get up there and see them. Having the 4 kids, just didn't get a free weekend to get up there. I still keep in contact with the son. It is hard for to believe his dad owned the car all the way up until 2007, and they never took a picture of it over the years. He was a fanatic about the car, but no pics?
Your pics are a priceless treasure, post up what you get from him, and it might be cool to get a picture of him with the car if you have the chance in the future.
How far is he from you?

It's only been with the advent of 'digital cameras' and big disks on our computers, that taking photos is as easy as snapping your fingers.    I had many cool cars, but very little photos..  instamatics didn't take that great of a photo, nor did polaroids (Wanna buy some old cameras?) .  :)     Of the photos we did take, the prints are generally faded, yellowed, etc after 30 to 40 yrs, and it's not easy to convert the slides.  I've got stacks ands tacks of Bell/Howell and Kodak slides trays... but not easy to get them into digital form.

Gary, Last winter I bought a slide to digital converter via USB that worked good & was easy to use. You are welcome to borrow it if you have some free time over the holidays. It has been fun to share the old pictures with family & friends. George

Hi George,
I designed/developed high resolution digitizers for all sorts of media and formats for 15-20 yrs in my professional engineering life, but the ones I was involved with were very very expensive and high end.  I actually have a couple of those expensive ones, but to digitize film on them, the slide has to be removed from the holder and thus isn't very efficient.  Kodak and others were developing 'fast slide digitizers' at one time, but I've never used one of them.  Can you tell me what you bought?  maybe a link with a description?  who made it?" what model? etc...  If it's affordable, I'd rather buy one than borrow yours..  :)   but thanks for the offer.. :)

Gary I think this is the one I have, it's not accessible right now (ION Film 2 SD 35mm Slide and Negative Scanner).

George,  Thanks..
via Amazon, new ones are a little less than $100, with almost new used ones about half of that..  I'm considering ordering one of them.   Can you post a couple of good example photos that you've digitized from a slide?  :)

This is my 68 Z taken when I was a Sr. in highschool  Dec 1972.  Lemans Blue, White strip, Blue Standard interior, console.  I added the rear spoiler and hood locks.  I truly loved this car.  Purchased the car for $1100 in 71 with 53k miles on the clock.  The car was badged as a 302 and the title read "302" sport coupe.  I soon ordered the Z/28 badges.  The 302 emblems are still with me..........wish the car was.  ;)

Gary, I remember now the colors didn't come out quite the same as the slide, and picture size limit here makes it smaller. Here are 2 that were scaned slides.
wtexz10, Nice Z looks darker than LeMans blue. George

Thanks Gary.  Those are polaroids and the color wasn't right when I took them, but the car was defineatley Lemans Blue.  I like it so much I bought a C6 Z06 in LMB also.  But the newer LMB is certainly darker than the 68 color.  I guess I just like saying Leman Blue. ;)

Nice Yenko and 50th Anniversary TA!

Thanks Kurt.
That company appears to do a nice job for a decent price...  but being a 'hands on' car guy, I probably will do my own~ :)

George:  Thanks for the sample images.   When I began looking at the ION unit, I actually ordered one, then canceled it as I learned about several other inexpensive units, so now I'm in the 'evaluation' mode..   thanks again!! :)
