Not a big Fan of Decals.....but
« on: June 25, 2013, 02:44:13 AM »
I'm not a big fan of Decals, but after discussing this idea with a few people they thought it was a neat idea.  I know exactly where I was when my car was being built.  (Nov. 1 -'66)  Ft. Hood, TX.

06A 69 for me. It was summertime, Atlanta Georgia, hippie chics, alcohol and some other wild stuff I don't remember. Finally got myself expelled out of catholic school for good that year and went public school after that. I wouldn't see my Z until 2001.

02B...Second week of Feb. 1969.  I was removing/replacing war heads/guidance packages  on our Minuteman ICBM. Ellsworth AFB, S.D. The rest of the time, it was life, love, and the pursuit of happiness. Lots and lots as I recall. Met my wife of 43 years during that time also.

As the title implies, I'n not a big fan of putting a lot of Decals on my car (permanently).  I am however "Old Skool", I was driving these COOL cars when they were new, and I like the LOOK of the Decals in the Quarter windows.  So, I compromised.  I put these Decals on clear Static Kling sheets, I so can put them on or take them off as the mood strikes me.  Whatcha think?

My 69 has a 69 era "West Texas State University" decal located in the middle of the rear glass.  I was there from 72-76.  The school joined the Texas A&M system in the late 80's and changed the name to West Texas A&M.

The decal is staying......it's vintage, just like my car, and just like me.  ;)
