Right top door hinge sealer type
« on: October 06, 2013, 07:17:49 PM »
Do you know what the correct sealer type is for the top right door hinge on a '67 (not sure if 68 or 69 are the same) ? I don't remember if it was a caulk type seam sealer or the rope sealer to seal the expose square recessed mounting nut hole seen from the top edge of the hinge. I *think* it was seam sealer like that applied from a caulk gun.  This is on the '67 I am restoring so I looked at my '67 original and I can't make out if it is a rope type sealer or not and I don't want to distrub the paint on it to find out.

Thank you,
Mike

Here I am answering my own question. I found a rusting 67 parts car at a friends house and the sealer definitely looks like a caulk gun type as one side had a crude application and it looked like it was finger smeared. I also discovered my original 67 also has the drivers door sealed at the top hinge. So much for remembering only the right side was sealed.
