Good morning everyone. I just want to say hello and I'm excited about joining this forum and was hoping to seek some professional help with this trim tag and vin from a 1969 Z/28 I'm purchasing. I'm not new to First Generation Camaro's but I also don't want to throw money out there on a Z/28 and come to find out one day it's not real. I can't say enough about how cool the owner is being with me and working with me so hopefully there's nothing wrong with the tags...

Car is a 1969 Camaro Z/28. Owner has original transmission but DZ motor long gone. Here are some pics of the Vin and cowl tag:

Tag looks good, and the VIN looks good for a late January 69 Camaro.

Car was listed in the Team Camaro classifieds in March of this year.

Thanks guys. I just needed some solid reassurance. I was a little unaware of how much faking of these cowl tags is going on till I began the research to read through this site. Im certainly glad there are people like yourselves who know this stuff inside and out. And I myself can't tell the difference so I appreciate the responses!

Looks also like the very last production day of January - last VIN out according to other threads was 589720 for January, so this car is 303 away from January 31st, Feb. 1 or 2 for the last of the production week. 912/day, so pretty late January 01C. My Z is an 01C, body code starts with 229 (this one is 231), MSO is Jan. 28th. Dates/numbers support themselves, as was stated.

Regards,
Steve

Thanks Steve. I feel a lot better posting it on this site and people reassuring that the trim tag is real.

Thanks. It's a work in progress. We have it on the rotisserie now and it's getting a new drivers (rear) floor pan, toe board and trunk fillers and then off to paint.
