........ Is the beginning of 67 when they switched from part 3192420 to the part 3192851?

I have a set of unused NOS for a 68 'TM' shock but the P/N is 3192831 (mono usage).  A picture can be seen here for one: http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=9148.0
See my reply #2.

Based on a few BBCs be aware that automatics likely used different rear shocks-TN 3192832-for '69 at least and they are spec'd manual/automatic in old P & A manuals. I do not know if 832 and 851 were ever available as service parts; they are not on the Dec '71 listing I have.

But what is the grace time between when they were made, and when they were installed in a 69 camaro?

2-4 weeks is "typical", could be much longer. In NCRS Corvette judging, we allow up to six months for dated components.

I have the original spiral shocks on my 69 Z, but as expected they are not road worthy.  Can these shocks be rebuilt and restored?  If so, Who can do the service?

By the way, Bullitt65, I noticed you were looking for a set.  Coast 2 Coast camaro has a set of four, but very expensive.  It might be worth a call.

Thanks,
Bryan

Dan Patch in Kansas rebuilds Delco shocks for the NCRS Corvette guys.

Bryan what are the dates on shocks front and rear? and what is the build date of your car(s). I assume you just have one set, but maybe both your cars have them.

I've seen several dates. But the sample size (and pool of available ones) will be small cause most were replaced.

Ok another question same topic: ANother member and I have been trying to figure out which is correct for his 69 Big block copo, he has seen some guys with original 3192851, he has seen other copo with 3192632. He looked further into it and one guy with a copo told him the automatic cars came with the 632 the 4 speeds came with the 851. Jerrys book says the 851 but then the sticker designation would be different? "TN" was to be used, why would they do that for the same part #?
