67 RS rear shock mounts
« on: July 24, 2013, 09:27:47 PM »
Ok - one of the top 3 items on my restoration list (just acquired '67  RS) is the rear shock mounts. Balance of car is great (floors, quarters, etc) but the area near the rear mounts is rusted thru. This follows the curvature of the wheel well for about 12 inches. Distance into the actual trunk pan is only 1-2 inches. I see patch panels the would fit nicely from the trunk side.... But  I see some reinforcements from underneath that are sandwiched under the sheet metal where the shock punches thru - can these be had also? Suggestions and experiences? Thanks

I've made the inners that are welded to the frame out of 4130 Chrome Moly steel, they held up great for the past 10 + years.

I thought  a Vendor was re-popping them as well. Try this, but no photo.
