Canadian POP reissue

Saw this POP over at Team Camaro.
Is this the type reissued to the second owner under warranty?
Must have been one of the first V8's into Canada with such a low VIN

That's what the first owner got, in place of the metal P-O-P that was delivered with U.S.-purchased cars; it was issued by GM of Canada-Oshawa, and mailed to the new car owner. Note the paragraph below the card where it talks about receiving the card in the mail.

Why would it have such a late date for such an early car?

Is there such a thing as second owner warranty plates for Canadian cars like there is for domestic cars?

Is there any decoding information for the Canadian POP's?

08A 1966 car first sold on 3/15/67

I can't imagine a Camaro sitting unsold at a dealership for very long in 1966/67. They where in big demand!
Maybe it was the dealers promo, personal, or demo car.

Thanks for your response. CRG data on POP's is pretty thin.

We don't know for sure (not many data points), but we think the metal P-O-P was removed by the receiving dealer when the car was sold, and forwarded with the customer's name and address to GM of Canada HQ, who then created the plastic Canadian P-O-P and mailed it to the customer.

There's not much on the card to decode - only the two numbers above and to the left of the "GM" symbol; we don't know what they are (most likely some sort of account number for the car and the dealer).

Then again, why bother if you have the GM Canadian DOC's

Codes on the POP -
The FCO # is the order # - I don't recall what the abbreviation stands for. Shows up on the Canadian docs.

The other # is the dealer code.

Not sure this is accurate, but per an internet search, FCO in international trading is:

Full Corporate Offer .

This is the final, detailed, specific offer that the seller is sending to the buyer.   Makes sense?
