69 Z-28 for real?
« on: June 27, 2013, 06:42:31 AM »
My 69 has a cowl tag as follows:

ST69 12437     NO232640BDX
Trim 713    52   8   PNT
    050         X-33    1

Vin  124379N645609

Been told it is a real Z-28, Red with black vinyl top, black houndstooth interior. The car was backhalved before I bought it years ago. Now has a 30 over 402 big block.

If you can post a crisp, hi-res photo of the trim tag, the guys here will be able to confirm if it's a genuine trim tag.

Theres so many typos in that tag info, its impossible to tell at this point, but if the body number is anywhere near correct its way out of sequence for a mid May of 69 car.

That body number is over 32,000 units earlier than my 02D car.

From the picture, the body number looks like 326404 to me. The build date appears to be 05 something. The OP posted 050, so I'm assuming it's probably 05C or 05D. Terry, can you verify the body number and the date?

I know what an X33 code is, but I don't know what an X33-1 means . The paint code is 52 "B"  (for black vinyl top) not 8.

I'll take a guess: Body = 326404 like Ed Said; Build week 05C. That would fit.

I'm guessing that is 1 of the typos.  It doesn't show in the pic. posted.
