Another ebay claim
« on: June 13, 2013, 03:46:15 AM »
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-CAMARO-INDIANAPOLIS-500-PACE-CAR-396-4-SPEEDS-1-CONCOURSE-s-MATCHING-/290930225655?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item43bccaf1f7  Just had to note that the owner claims that this car was restored to #1 condition by a NCRS restorer. The second pic shows the underside and not only is the crossmember WRONG, but it is in backwards as well. Spare is gray and not a ralley wheel. Wouldn't want this restorer to touch my car.

well.. no one is perfect..   but some imperfections are just more easily seen... :)

The backdrop of some of the photos appeared to be taken in 'Art's Corvette World' in Bowling Green, KY.. (right in front of the NCM), although the location for the seller appeared to be in Canada...?

So the VIN is real but the TT is bogus. Is the real car that has that tag even out there or is somebody taking artistic license? I would freak if I saw my TT tag on another car. I guess it pays to keep your eyes open.

It's a made up trim tag, body number is probably pretty close for an 03D car but since its a repro who knows what the car was originally.  It might have been a PC missing a tag and someone had one made up, could be a completely fabricated PC built on a convertible body,  who knows what it was at this point.

Aw, shucks - I'd hoped it was for real and would drive the value of mine up along with it when it sold for $91K.

One more note - doesn't it drive you crazy when someone spends so much time (and money) "restoring" a car, spends a lot on pictures, composing the ad, and sharing all kinds of catchy statements, and still won't take the time to use a spellchecker or a dictionary ?
