Rocker Extensions?
« on: May 29, 2013, 04:49:51 PM »
Hey guys,

I have seen a few Camaros where the rockers have been lowered a few inches.  This is something I would like to consider doing, but can not find anything on doing this.  Is there someone that makes these or could custom make a set?  Do these exist anywhere as a part item and if so, where do I find em?

I am thinking something on the idea of this, but maybe not as radical or as low.  I would certainly like to install the exhaust into the rocker just in front of the rear tire, which would not only look cool, but help me with my issue of getting the pipes out the back end after having installed a four-link setup, which leaves very little room for pipes coming out the back end.

If anyone knows of anything about doing this or has an idea, or can make this, let me know.

Here is a photo of the Camaro with the extended rocker panels that I would like to try and copy.  Maybe not as low, but you get the idea.

Is it really a full rocker or just a plate formed up to make it look like that? A good shot of underneath would be good, at least you would know for sure. Nice idea though. Maybe side pipes are mounted to the bottom of the original rockers and then the cover plate bolted on or even welded in place inside the door jamb and supports rods or gussets were used to firm it up. Definitely can't do speed bumps.
