« on: July 28, 2006, 04:29:13 PM »
Hello: Were all the wiper motor gromets installed at time of painting? The one with the ground strap was bacause the ground strap was painted. Was the metal part of the gromet masked off for electrical connection to firewall?
Thks. for the help.

No, the grommets were not installed at the time of painting - they were part of the wiper motor as received, and the wiper motor was installed about two shifts later by Chevrolet, long after the body was painted at Fisher Body. There should be no paint of any kind on the grommets or on the ground strap.

How about as received from vendor? The ones I've seen, the groung strap was riveted and was painted, of course these were all old cars at the time, I can't remember how they were new.
Thks. for the help
