what engine motor mount did you use on z28
« on: April 01, 2013, 02:58:08 AM »
Getting parts ready to install engine and noticed the mounts on engine were the original non locking ones. One had a crack in rubber so I figured to get a new set. Is it a good idea to switch to the locking ones? I think the wider one was the cracked one.
Thanks

Well, GM switched to the locking ones eventually.  Unless you are planning to have the car judged in a class that will ding you, I would just use the Anchor replacment interlocking mounts.  Just put a pair on my 69 Z and they fit perfectly.

Optionally, use your remaining orignal good one on the RH side (passenger side of the engine) and buy an interlocking one for the LHS...  GM may have even swapped out some LHS units for interlocking ones during first year maintenance activity??
