1969 multi leaf 10 bolt rear end.
« on: July 08, 2015, 04:19:33 PM »
it appears that I have one of those 1969 SS350's with the 10 bolt multi leaf (5 leaf) rear ends. The engine is long gone, replaced with a 454 LS5. Also the fuel sending unit has the vent line that was also cut off when the engine was replaced. If any more info is out there on these cars above and beyond what is on the forum, please let me know. I will post pics and numbers soon as I'm looking for the build sheet on top of the fuel tank, as the car was built in Van Nuys. Thanks for any info in advance.

Does the car have air conditioning?

Well, fuel tank is out, no build sheet... Like i stated earlier there is a chopped off vapor return line, and according to Year Ones parts catalog, those sending units were used in big and small blocks with a Quadrajet carb. That motor. (small block)is long gone. The guy i bought the car from in South Dakota had no idea about any of it. The VIN is 124379L514612, the 10 bolt rear end is marked PA05026 making it a 3.08:1 Also on the Body Trim Plate the numbers are as follows 12437VN230642 (BDY)
TR 713  50 B  01A  All of these options are still with the car, except for a bad repaint job at some point, again, guy i bought it from was a know nothing about the car...  Any more info from anyone would be great, Thanks Again. I will post pics when i have time to make them small enough to fit...

Have you checked the front and rear seat springs for build sheet?

The axle is a mono-leaf and it dated too late for the car, so it's not original.

Kurt S, are you telling me that this was a 12 bolt rear end car at one time based on the other info that i have provided? Also, if the rear axle was swapped out it had to have been back in the 80's maybe, because it sure looks like its been in there a long time. All the bushings and pads on the leaf springs gotta get replaced to, as they look original and are worn out and falling apart...

Not enough data to be sure, but with the 2 fuel lines and the build date, I expect it had a 12-bolt.
