Black booster and brake lines 1969
« on: February 22, 2013, 03:02:38 AM »
Not sure on this as being original, but my 12B car has a black booster and black brake lines coming off master cylinder. It appears original as it is on the back side of booster and all the way around as well, which would have been difficult with a rattle can IMO. Do other members have these parts black OP? there is no overspray on firewall and FW paint is original. It also has sueude paint down in cowl cavity where wipers are and original paint on wiper linkage(satin black).I stated in other posts that this car has never been diassembled or restored, but did have a custom non-factory paint on body when I bought it many many moons ago (33 years) Some day I will post a pic when I figure out how to get my 35mm pics loaded. It was originally a hugger orange car,but when purchased it had a black with heavy gold metal flake paint with flames ,yellow to orange to red and blue tips that started at front nose and ended midway down doors. There was cob webbing in grill and tail panel. yes,it was very cool and was many coats of hand rubbed laquer. I sandded most of the flames off when I was 20 as I thought the cops could recognize it too well. The way I drove it it got a lot of attention. Ran mid 12's back in the day. Restoring it now and do not want to plate booster if this black was correct on this particular car. So if others have seen this chime in. The L89 that HB is selling also has a black booster. My car is an original  X22 SS/RS car.

that's an interesting question;  I bought my car (a late 09C Z28) in '76, and it was painted black also, at least partially..  which I of course 'touched up'..  :), but I've no idea if that is the way it came from the factory; I don't have any 'just delivered' photographs of any of these cars..

I've never seen a black booster or brake lines on a '69; Corvettes yes, Camaros no.
